Xiaomi’s connected fryer soon to be offered in a Pro version, with a 6 l model as a bonus
Xiaomi made many announcements during MWC 2023, starting of course with that of its new flagship smartphones: the Xiaomi 13, of which we have already been able to test the Pro version. But the firm also took the opportunity to specify the availability of its Buds 4 Pro, as well as to lift the veil on a first pair of connected glasses. But other novelties were to be discovered directly on its stand, in particular for the house.
Remember that Xiaomi has greatly expanded its catalog in recent years, and now offers many equipment for the home. A range that the firm intends to extend in the future, with two new oil-free fryers in particular. They will support the Smart Air Fryer 3.5L, Xiaomi’s first model.
Xiaomi’s connected fryer improves
The Smart Air Fryer Pro 4L is also presented as an improved version of this model, if not for the power perhaps: it is announced here at 1200 W, against 1500 W for the previous model. The capacity is on the other hand a little more important – 4 liters, against 3.5 – but we especially notice the integration of a window on the front of the drawer. Thanks to this, it should no longer be necessary to systematically interrupt cooking to check its progress. The design seems very similar for the rest, and of course we also find wifi to extend the user interface, reduced on the device to a single rotary button with a small integrated Oled screen; a very convenient solution.
A non-connected model, but more suitable for families as a bonus
The second model present on Xiaomi’s MWC stand is called Air Fryer 6L. It is therefore not connected, but offers a greater capacity. A good point, since we had precisely found the capacity of the first model a little weak. For small tables, it will be possible to reduce the capacity of the basket to 3 litres. This should not reduce the consumption of the device since it is simply a question of raising the cooking tray which normally slides into the bottom, but the manufacturer indicates that it would thus be possible to obtain a little more cooking crispy. Since we are talking about consumption, it should be noted that this fryer is announced with a power of 1500 W.
The temperature range extends for its part from 40 to 200°C and should make it possible to cook fries, but also meat and cakes or even to defrost food or to ferment yogurts. Programs are also provided to help the user, but we can still expect an interface that is much less clear and practical than on models equipped with a screen. The Air Fryer 6L is indeed content with sensitive buttons associated with a small display. Without wifi, it should therefore be a little more affordable than other Xiaomi fryers, but the manufacturer has not yet mentioned any price. Release dates are also to be confirmed.
