Xiaomi launches the Redmi 12C, one of its most affordable smartphones

If we know more about its Redmi Note series, whose version 12 was announced in China in the fall of 2022 and whose European release is still awaited, Xiaomi offers even more affordable smartphones. Evidenced by the Redmi 12C, also just formalized in China, and which is one of the most accessible models of the manufacturer. It is therefore not yet entitled to the recently announced MiUI 14 interface, and is released under MiUI 13.

Small price requires, the technical sheet of the Redmi 12C is modest. It therefore includes a large 6.71-inch HD + screen under which hides a chip regularly crossed in entry-level smartphones, the Helio G85 from MediaTek – with a 4G modem. Xiaomi accompanies it with 4 to 6 GB of RAM depending on the version, but also with storage from 64 to 128 GB, expandable via a microSD card. A 5000 mAh battery supports the whole, and should give the smartphone a comfortable autonomy.

As devices of this type do more and more often, the Redmi 12C prefers a simple photo block to the multiplication of sensors that are not very usable. It therefore offers a 50 megapixel sensor with wide-angle optics (f / 1.8) accompanied by a 2 megapixel depth sensor. We also note the integration of a mini-jack. On the connectivity side, note that the terminal is compatible with wifi ac and Bluetooth 5.1. On the other hand, it should be noted that it is satisfied with a micro-USB socket for recharging…

If Xiaomi rarely promotes its Redmi xC series on European markets, it is common to find them there via the marketplaces of online sellers. If so, it should be very accessible, with its starting price of 699 yuan being equivalent to €95 (excluding taxes).
