Xavi: It’s terrible, we fell apart in hours – Soccer World – Spain

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has shared his concerns about the many injured players who have suffered during the past national team break. Ronald Araujo, Jules Kunde, Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong, Ousmane Dembele and Hector Bellerin all suffered injuries in a short period of time. Of them, only Dembele has recovered, and Araujo will be treated the longest – several months.

“It was terrifying because we were falling apart within hours. It’s bad luck, no one is to blame… The calendar, the trips, the fatigue, the different types of training…” commented the coach of “Los Cules” on the eve of the meeting with Mallorca from La Liga.

“I am worried about the frequent injuries among the national teams. We are looking for an answer to the question of reasons, but we do not find it. Every one of our footballers is a national player. Perhaps more attention is needed when the athletes are with their national teams. I spoke not only with Tite, but also with the coach of France and others,” added Xavi.

The head coach does not know what is going to happen with Sergio Busquets, who has been reported to leave Barca at the end of the season. “He himself said that he has not decided anything yet, and will do so only next summer. For me, Busquets is a player of fundamental importance, and as I see it is for Luis Enrique as well,” commented Xavi.

He added that Ansu Fati is now ready to be a starter and play the whole game.
