WhatsApp: How to use your account on several devices?
If there is one option that WhatsApp lacked, it was the one allowing you to use your account on all of our devices – previously, you had to keep your smartphone close to you for everything to work. Aware of this shortcoming, Meta has deployed an option allowing the use of the instant messaging application on several terminals.

Thanks to the latter, you will be able to find your conversations on another smartphone, a tablet or even a computer. The process works on Android and iOS and allows up to four additional devices to be connected to one account. Here are the steps to follow.
To start, you need to make sure that the application is up to date. You need to have at least version 2.2210.10. Once the adapted version has been downloaded, you will have to go to the settings.
On Android : Click on the icon of the three vertical dots at the top right of the device. Then choose “Connected devices” from the drop-down menu.
On iOS : Go to the menu “Settings“, at the bottom right of the application. Then click on “Connected devices“.
WhatsApp then displays “Connect a device“, and specifies that there is no longer any need to have a connected phone for the mode to work. Click on the tab (blue or green depending on the OS).

Allow the app to use your camera if it isn’t already. Then go to the WhatsApp website: https://web.whatsapp.com/
Don’t forget to choose the computer version (and not the mobile mode) if you want to enjoy the software on your tablet.
Go to the WhatsApp website to generate a QR code.
Scan the QR Code displayed on the browser page. The connection is instantaneous and you see your recent chats displayed.

It is possible to disconnect from the browser of the computer/tablet or the smartphone. Don’t forget to do this if you’re connecting outside of your home.
