The host of the “Popular Politics” channel, Dmitry Nizovtsev, called the son of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov – Nikolay, on live air and called him to the military district to hand him a summons, the “Insider” publication reports.
The YouTube channel was created by supporters of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Dmitry Nozovtsev introduces himself as an official from the military commissariat and offers Nikolai Peskov to appear for inspection the next day at 10 am.
“At 10 a.m. tomorrow, of course, I will not come. If you know that I am Mr. Peskov, you must understand that it is not quite right for me to appear there. I will decide this on another level. In general, I need to understand what is happening and what rights I have. If they take me tomorrow – believe me, neither you nor I need it. I have no problem defending the motherland, but I need to understand the expediency of my appearance there, I am talking about certain political nuances,” says Peskov’s son.
To the question, can they put a check mark against his surname in the column “Does he agree to go as a volunteer to the front?”
Nikolay Peskov answers: “No, you should not put such a mark”. Then he declared that he was “ready to go, but not at your request. Look, if Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin – b.r.) tells me I have to go, I will go.”
Hours after the clip went viral, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov defended his son Nikolai, saying he was aware of what happened, but added that the full version of that phone conversation with his son had not been released.
