Ankara has assured Washington that it will not allow any person or institution to violate the sanctions imposed on Russia in connection with the invasion of Ukraine, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

A written statement from Turkey’s Ministry of Finance and State Treasury stated that these assurances were given during a telephone conversation between Turkey’s Deputy Finance Minister Yunus ElitaƟ and his US counterpart Wally Adeyemo.

The US representative has said that Russian entities and individuals are trying to use Turkey to circumvent Western sanctions imposed over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Turkey’s finance ministry said.
