watchOS 9.1 will improve the battery life of Apple Watches during certain workouts

If your Apple Watch tires before you do during your workouts, the solution may be closer than it seems. Apple recently made the watchOS 9.1 update available in beta for its smartwatches (Apple Watch Series 4 and later), which brings them new features. One of them aims in particular to improve autonomy during certain types of training.

Three improvements to the program

This improvement will show up in walking, running, and hiking workouts. The OS will reduce the recurrence of heart rate and GPS location readings on Apple Watch SE 2022, Series 8 and Ultra to extend battery life even further.

The second novelty, this update will lift a limitation of previous versions of watchOS since the Apple Watch Series 3. It was not previously possible to synchronize songs from your iPhone with the watch without it being previously connected to a charger. The option will now be possible with the tocante connected to a wifi or cellular network.

Finally, watchOS 9.1 will bring compatibility with Matter, the protocol dedicated to connected objects for the home, whose integration Apple announced at WWDC in June. This protocol aims to be the universal standard for home automation and to facilitate the use of compatible objects. This update will also fix bugs and bring security fixes.

The final version of watchOS 9.1 is expected on October 24, the same day as macOS Ventura and versions 16.1 of iOS, iPadOS and tvOS.
