Vinicius’ dancing led to huge scandal – Football World – Spain

Vinicius Junior’s dancing after a goal caused a scandal in Spain. Real Madrid jumped to the defense of their Brazilian striker and announced that the attacks against the Brazilian were racist.

It all started with football agent Pedro Bravo, who said on air that Vinicius disrespected his opponents by celebrating his goals with dances and compared his behavior to that of a monkey. This understandably immediately led to reactions on social networks, writes Telegraph.bg.

It is not the first time Vinicius himself has received such comments for his celebration. The striker posted a message on social media saying he will not stop.

“They say happiness gets in the way. The happiness of an earning black Brazilian in Europe is of much greater concern. But my desire to win, my smile, the sparkle in my eyes are much bigger than that. You can’t imagine. I was the victim of a xenophobic and racist comment. But it didn’t start yesterday. Already weeks ago they started criticizing my dancing. Dances that are not mine. They belong to Ronaldinho, to Neymar, to Lucas Paqueta, to Antoine Griezmann, to Joao Felix, to Mateus Cunha. They belong to Brazilian artists, to samba dancers, to reggaeton singers, to black Americans. These are dances that show the cultural diversity around the world. Accept them, respect them. I will not stop,” said Vinicius.

Real Madrid threatened to sue anyone who makes racist comments about a player of the team.

“Real Madrid rejects all racist and xenophobic expressions and behavior in football, in sport and in life in general and it is very unfortunate what comments were made towards Vinicius Junior. Real Madrid wants to show its love and support for Vinicius, a player who understands football as an attitude to life based on joy, respect and sportsmanship. Football should be an example of values. The club has instructed its legal team to take action against anyone who uses racist language about our players.”

Bravo, who is president of the Association of Spanish Agents, said Vinicius “acts like a monkey” and does “stupid things”. He later apologized for his words.

“I want to make it clear that the expression ‘like a monkey’ that I misused to qualify Vinicius’ goal celebration dance was metaphorical. It was not my intention to offend anyone and I sincerely apologize. Sorry!” said the agent.

Vinicius received support from a number of current stars, led by Neymar, as well as legend Pele.

“Football is joy. It is a dance. A party. Despite the fact that racism still exists, that will not stop us from continuing to smile. And we will continue to fight racism,” wrote the King of Football.

The Brazilian Football Federation uses the hashtag “Dance Vinny” on social networks.
