Spice Girls fans won’t be happy with Victoria Beckham’s words about the possibility of a band reunion.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live this week, Beckham, 48, admitted she was reluctant to commit to a potential Spice Girls tour amid rumors of a Glastonbury appearance.
“I had so much fun in the Spice Girls”she explains. “But I think now with everything else going on – with my fashion and cosmetics line, with my four children – I wouldn’t be able to indulge in that.”
Asked if an ABBA hologram concert in London – organized by ex-Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller – was something she would be open to, the singer said: That’s a great ideasays the British star. “This is a good idea.”
The Spice Girls – also made up of Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C – shot to global fame and sold more than 90 million records in the 1990s.
According to Emma Bunton, the mother-of-four would be “ready” to join the Spice Girls for their Glastonbury show. “Can I be honest? Nobody asked us,” she said recently on Keith Lemon’s podcast.
Victoria has already repeatedly ruled out the possibility of returning to the Spice Girls. In a 2019 interview, she spoke about her decision not to participate in the band’s reunion tour that year.
“Saying no takes courage”she told Vogue. “For example, it took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who said, ‘You know, I’m not going to do it because things feel different now than before.’ I’m concentrating on my family and my company.”
