Max Verstappen will give his all during the upcoming race weekend in Sao Paulo. The two-time world champion wants Red Bull to finish the 2022 season in the best way possible. The Dutchman admitted that he hopes to double wins both in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

Verstappen has a good track record in the Interlagos race. The Red Bull driver won the race in the 2019 season and recorded three more podium finishes, including last year.

The weekend in Sao Paulo includes a sprint race where extra points will be awarded. This means that one wrong step could prove costly for one of the competitors fighting for the front positions.

Quite logically, Verstappen will be looking to continue making history and take his 15th win since the start of the season, as well as his third in a row in the sprints. Earlier this week, the Dutchman said that not a fan of sprint races. The two-time world champion is also keen to lend a hand to his Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez when needed. The Mexican is fighting with Charles Leclerc for second place in the general classification.

“The race setup with the sprint this weekend means we only have a short training window. It’s always a bit more difficult to make sure the car is perfect and that we’ve set it up well despite the limited time,” said Verstappen.

“As a team we want to finish first and second in the championship. It is important to make sure that Checo will be ahead of Charles,” added the Red Bull driver.

Meanwhile Sergio Perez chasing a first podium finish in Brazil. To date, the experienced Mexican’s best finish has been fourth place since 2016. Red Bull’s co-driver is ready to defend his position and be ahead of Leclerc at all costs, no matter where Verstappen is.

“I go into the last two races of the season feeling like I have what it takes to win,” said Perez.

“Although we are constructors’ champions, as a team it is extremely important to secure the top two places in the drivers’ championship. For that, I have to keep fighting and be determined to achieve the best possible result in every race, including the sprint.”

“This short race is a chance to win important points. So it’s important to have a good practice on Friday morning and qualify in qualifying. If we put it all together this weekend we will be the team to beat. I believe we are still so motivated to maintain the incredible form we have had this season,” added the Red Bull driver.
