“United Group” came out with an official position, which it sent through BTA, regarding a potential agreement with Levski. The company stated that a financial and legal analysis had been made, but there had been no negotiations. There will be no such thing with the former owner of the “Blues” Vasil Bozhkov, as he is affected by the “Magnitsky” law.
Here’s what the position says:
“In relation to publications in Bulgarian media containing allegations of a potential agreement by United Group and/or Sport Republic to acquire FC Levski, United Group and Sport Republic would like to state the following:
United Group recently conducted a financial and legal analysis of FC Levski, the results of which were presented and are currently being reviewed by United Group and Sport Republic management. The analysis has not yet been discussed with the owners and/or management of FC Levski.
United Group and Sports Republic have not yet held negotiations regarding the acquisition of FC Levski.
United Group and Sport Republic strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations and have not negotiated and will not negotiate with individuals and/or companies sanctioned under the Global Magnet Law.
United Group and Sport Republic will not comment in the future on any speculation on the subject. The companies will release an official statement when negotiations are finalised, successful or not.”
