Tragedy! Journalist dies during Netherlands – Argentina – World Cup – World Cup

American journalist Grant Wall died during the quarter-final clash of the World Cup 2022 between the teams of the Netherlands and Argentina, reports The Wall Street Journal. According to the publication, Wall suffered a heart attack in the closing minutes of the clash at Lusail Stadium.
Wall, 48, is a household name in football circles in his home country and made headlines in Qatar when he was detained by local authorities over a rainbow shirt he wore during a match between the USA and Wales.
According to reports at the time, Wall collapsed in the stadium’s bleachers, where he received emergency medical treatment and was taken out on a stretcher.
“Grant made football his life’s work. We are all devastated that he and his brilliant materials will no longer be with us,” the US Soccer Association said in a statement.
Grant Wahl, one of the most well-known soccer writers in the United States, has died.
Wahl was covering the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands.
