“It’s definitely special because, you know, I changed his diapers!” Tom said. “But you go through it quickly, you have to act on time and be absorbed in the process,” he added.

He continued about their work together with Truman: “We both know what it takes. He was chosen for a very specific reason – we look alike, he is no stranger and he knows what pressure is and how to act.”

Tom, 66, also opened up about the concerns actors have about their performance.

“The thing we both know is that you don’t know if you’ve done a good job. All you can do is wait for that very surreal moment when you see the movie and it’s like, ‘There it is!’ It’s going to last forever . But even then, you have no idea if it worked out well,” Hanks muses.

Asked by “People” what it was like working with his father, Truman joked that he and his siblings have mastered the art of imitating their dad. Tom has a son Colin and a daughter Elizabeth with his late ex-wife Samantha Lewis. Rita Wilson has sons – Chester and Truman.

“Whenever I’m imitating him, people say, ‘He doesn’t sound like that.’ the DVD player,” Truman smiles.

Hanks recently spoke to Reuters about the family entertainment business. “We have four kids — they’re all very creative, they’re all involved in some kind of storytelling,” he shared.
