The footballer with the most trophies in the history of Real (Madrid) – Marcelo, will continue his football journey in our southern neighbor Greece.
The 34-year-old Brazilian, who has won 25 trophies, has signed a contract with Greek champions Olympiakos.
The left-back’s contract is for one year, but there is a clause in it for a possible extension for another year, subject to an agreement between the player and the club.
Marcelo had an amazing career at the Santiago Bernabeu where he stayed for 15 seasons and recorded an incredible 546 appearances for the iconic white team.
In that period, he played a major role in winning five Champions League trophies, as well as six Spanish titles. In addition to them, he has two Copa del Rey, four Spanish Super Cups, three European Super Cups and four Club World Cup trophies in his portfolio.
At the end of last season, his contract with the Kings expired, and after iconic celebrations for another Champions League win, Marcelo said goodbye to the fans and announced that the time had come to say goodbye to Real.
Thus, he becomes another world star who lands in the Greek championship. Certainly out of the many options he had in front of him, including those from his homeland and the Arab world, Marcelo chose to go to Piraeus because of the very hefty remuneration he would be pocketing every month.
