The Metropolitan Municipal Council (SOC) at a meeting today approved a report on the donation of apartments to the gold medalists in rhythmic gymnastics from the Summer Olympic Games held in Tokyo in 2021 – Simona Dyankova, Stefani Kiryakova, Madeleine Radukanova, Laura Traats, Erika Zafirova and their coach Vesela Dimitrova.
The gold medalist in boxing from the Tokyo Games Stoika Krasteva and her personal trainer Borislav Georgiev also received apartments, BTA informs.
Our proposal is dictated by the historical success of the athletes achieved at the Tokyo Olympics and is expressed in the donation of eight residential properties, which are located in a block in the residential area. “Holy Trinity”, point out the authors of the report Ivan Bozhilov, Dimitar Dimov, Tatiana Georgieva, Ivan Takov, Vladimir Mitov.
They recall that the SOS demonstrated its respect for the Olympic gold medalists by approving the proposal of the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, that they be awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Sofia”.
The petitioners also recall that such a donation is not a precedent. In 2008, SOS provided housing in “Krasno Selo” to our Olympic rowing gold medalist Rumyana Neikova and her husband and coach Svilen Neikov.
