We avoided the worst. While The Office was to leave Netflix on January 1 in many countries, including France, the streaming platform would have finally renewed its broadcasting rights for the cult series.

On Netflix until 2025
As a reminder, the SVoD platform had acquired the broadcasting rights of The Office beginning of 2021, which allowed it to broadcast the program in the following international markets: South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Israel, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic Czech, Romania, UK, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
The Office being one of the most popular series in the world, it would have cost $500 million per year to Netflix to keep the show. At this price, it was normal for the service to ask itself the question of keeping it; in early December, his broadcasting rights had not yet been renewed. The series was therefore due to leave the platform on January 1, 2023.
But according to the site What’s On Netflix, this one would have finally got its hands on the wallet and renewed its broadcasting rights in France and internationally for two additional years, until January 1, 2025. While still awaiting confirmation from Netflix, we can only rejoice in the news. Enough to leave time to see (or see again) the nine seasons and 201 episodes of the adventures of Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam and company.
The Office is also available on Amazon Prime Video.
