After careful consideration, I am announcing my immediate retirement from club and international football.

I feel incredibly lucky to have fulfilled my dream of playing the sport I love. It really gave me some of the best moments of my life. The highest of 17 season highs that will be impossible to replicate no matter what the next chapter throws at me.

From my first touch at Southampton to my last with LAFC and everything in between has shaped a club career for which I am immensely proud and grateful. Playing and captaining my country 111 times was truly a dream come true.
To express my gratitude to everyone who played their part during this journey seems impossible to me.

I feel indebted to many people for helping me change my life and shape my career in ways I could never have dreamed of when I first started at 9 years old.

To my previous clubs, Southampton, Tottenham, Real Madrid and finally LA FC. All my previous managers and coaches, staff, teammates, all the dedicated fans, my agents, my amazing friends and family, the impact you have made is immeasurable.

My parents and my sister, without your dedication in those early days, without such a strong foundation, I would not be writing this statement right now, so thank you for setting me on this path and for your unwavering support.

My wife and children, your love and support helped me along the way. Right by my side for all the highs and lows. You inspire me to be better and make you proud.

So, I move on with anticipation to the next stage of my life. A time of change and transition, an opportunity for a new adventure..Bale’s message reads.

Gareth Bale was last part of Los Angeles FC. The winger started his career in Southampton, and in 2007 he moved to Tottenham. Six years later, he was sold to Real Madrid for 101 million euros, and in 2022 he left the “whites”.

The Welshman won five times the Champions League with the “royal club”, 3 times triumphed in La Liga, once with the King’s Cup, 4 times the World Club Championship, and also three times the European Super Cup. Most recently, he triumphed with the MLS title.

Bale played 111 games for Wales, scoring 40 goals. His last appearances on the football field were at the 2022 World Cup.
