Gerard Pique’s long-term partner – Shakira, blew up not only the music world with her new song, which in 10 hours collected 24 million views. The Colombian singer dedicated her new song to the now ex-footballer, with whom she gave birth to two children, but after his infidelity, their 11-year relationship ended.
“Sorry, I’ve already caught another plane,” Shakira’s song begins with these words.
“I won’t come back here, I don’t want another disappointment. You claim to be a champion, and when I needed you, you showed the worst version of you,” she continues.
“A she-wolf like me is not for beginners. A she-wolf like me is not for people like you. I was too big for you, that’s why you’re with someone just like you,” Shakira refers to her 2009 hit “She wolf” with these lyrics.
“Understand that it is not my fault that you are criticized. I’m just making music, I’m sorry I splashed you,” the Colombian teases, as “splashed” in Spanish is salpique, which she distinctly separates into sal-pique.
“YO SÓLO HAGO MÚSICA, PERDÓN QUE TE SAL-PIQUÉ”
“Me dejaste de vecina a la suegra, con la prensa en la puerta y la deuda en Hacienda”

In the second half of the song, Shakira continues the wordplay by using the name of Pique’s new girlfriend, Clara.
“Tiene nombre de persona buena. Claramente no es como suena. Tiene nombre de persona buena, claramente es igualita que tú, pa’ tipos como tú”, sings Shakira, which translates into Bulgarian: “There is a name for a good person. It’s obviously not what it sounds like. She’s named after a good guy, she’s obviously just like you, for guys like you.’
“Trade in a Ferrari for a Twingo. Exchange a Rolex for a Casio,” the Colombian sings to him and advises him to work on his mental activity: “A lot of fitness, but work on your brain too.”
