Yesterday, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stressed that the arrested Serbs in Northern Kosovo must be released. At the same time, he called on the Kosovo Serbs not to take violent actions against the NATO forces and the European Union mission. US special envoy Gabriel Escobar is also coming to Kosovo today to meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The conflict erupted after Serbs blocked roads in northern Kosovo on Saturday over the arrest of a former Serbian police officer. Kosovo police came under fire and later a grenade was thrown at a vehicle belonging to the EU mission in Kosovo.
