Russia offers to resume negotiations with Ukraine without preconditions. This was stated by the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrey Rudenko, quoted by TASS.
“From our side, there are no other conditions, except the main one – that Ukraine shows good will,” he said.
According to him, Russia has always been ready for negotiations, and Ukraine, for its part, has banned talks with Moscow. Until recently, the Russian authorities did not allow anything other than the acceptance of their conditions by Kyiv.
Ukrainian authorities have actually passed a decree banning negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This happened after the Russian head of state signed the decree on the annexation of four occupied Ukrainian regions – Donetsk, Luhansk, as well as parts of Kherson and Zaporozhye Oblasts. Kyiv has repeatedly warned that negotiations will be blocked if Moscow annexes Ukrainian territory.
Now Ukraine has several times, at different levels, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, confirmed its readiness for talks, but in turn there are conditions – a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the country, and the topics of the negotiations must be focused to reparations from Russia, how the two neighboring countries can continue to live together and guarantees that the conflict will not happen again.
Peace negotiations between the two warring countries is a widely discussed topic, writes Investor.bg. In Ukraine, they are adamant that the Kremlin’s desire is to ensure an “operational pause” so that it can recover its losses and continue its offensive. Ukraine is currently on a counter-offensive, liberating 37% of the territory occupied since February 24.
