Russia threatens retaliatory measures because of “the participation of the USA and Europe in the conflict in Ukraine”

Due to the increasing involvement of the US and Europe in the conflict in Ukraine, Russia will have to act countermeasures. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov, quoted by RIA Novosti.

He added that “continuous large-scale assistance to Kyiv, training of personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces on the territory of allied countries, provision of intelligence data, real-time satellite images to the determination of targets for artillery strikes and planning of VSU operations increasingly involve Western countries in the conflict on the side of the Kyiv regime”.

“There are calls from leaders at various levels in the US and Europe to ‘defeat’ our country on the battlefield. It is clear that the direct collision with USA and NATO it is not in Russia’s interest. We warn and hope that Washington and other Western capitals realize the danger of uncontrollable escalation,” added Ryabkov.

He added that Moscow has repeatedly said that Western arms supplies are only prolonging the conflict, and transporting weapons is becoming a legitimate target for the Russian military.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow was open to diplomacy.

“However, conflicting signals continue to come from the administration of Joe Biden, in which speculations about the “Russian nuclear threat” alternate with assurances about the interest of the US in a quick peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine,” said Zakharova.

She noted that the spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, refused to comment on the “terrorist” attack on the Crimean bridge, but he said in an interview with a leading American television that “Russia is obstructing the beginning of peace talks.”

“Moscow is open to a diplomatic solution and the terms are well known. But the longer Washington encourages Kyiv’s bellicose attitude, not preventing but encouraging terrorist attacks by Ukrainian saboteurs, the more problematic it will be to find diplomatic ways to resolve it.” , she added.
