Russia plans to invade Moldova very soon…

The Russian Federation intends to invade Moldova as well. This was stated by the director of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) Alexandru Musteatsa in an interview with TVR Moldova, quoted by BGNES.

According to him, this could happen even at the beginning of 2023.

“The Russian Federation intends to go further. In order to create a node with the Transnistrian region, which is on the territory of Moldova,” warned the head of the country’s SIS.

Musteazza said that the implementation of the scenario depends on the development of the war in Ukraine.

According to him, several scenarios are being analyzed in which Moscow will try to launch a land invasion through the northern part of Ukraine to Moldova.

“The question is not whether the Russian Federation will make a new advance on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, but when it will happen: either at the beginning of the year, January, February, or later, March, April. But from the information we have we, the Russian Federation, intend to go far. What will happen later and their intentions regarding Chisinau, we can discuss, but this is a real and very high risk,” he stated.

Musteazza added that the largest ammunition depot in Europe – the one in Kobasna, in Transnistria, is guarded by the Russians, and at maximum capacity.

One of the hypotheses is the use of these munitions in a possible military confrontation.

At the end of November, the ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova, Marko Shevchenko, made a similar statement.

“The war in Ukraine still poses a threat to Moldova. The risk of invasion is now low, but the Kremlin has put Moldova on the same list as Ukraine,” he said.
