Rooney criticizes Mbappe: I have never seen a bigger ego than his

England legend Wayne Rooney doesn’t seem to be a fan of Kylian Mbappe. Or at least not the behavior of the young French superstar. Manchester United’s No. 1 goalscorer has come down hard on Mbappe for his behavior towards the other two big names in Paris Saint-Germain’s ranks – Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The capital city won 5-2 against Montpellier at the weekend and Mbappe missed a penalty after just over 20 minutes of play. Shortly before the end of the first half, the Parisians had another chance to score from 11 meters, with Neymar behind the ball, but he scored only after an argument with his French team-mate, who again wanted to take the penalty.

“A 23-year-old kid pushes Messi… I have never seen a bigger ego in my life. Someone needs to remind Mbappe that when Messi was 23, he already had four Ballon d’Or,” commented the Englishman, who currently is the coach of DC United in the USA.

The incident Rooney is talking about is from the same match – cameras caught Mbappe shouldering Messi as he went past him.

The young Frenchman signed a space contract with PSG earlier in the year but since the start of the season has taken a backseat to Neymar, who is undoubtedly the team’s No.1. The 30-year-old Brazilian, who has been linked with a move away, has five goals and three assists in three games so far. Messi has scored three times in three matches and assisted once.
