Daniel Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the 2022 season, the team officially announced. It is confirmed that both parties have reached an amicable termination of the pilot’s contract.

2022 is the second season of the Australian pilot in the team from Woking. He won last year’s Italian Grand Prix with McLaren.

“It has been a privilege to be part of the McLaren Racing family for the past two seasons, but after several months of discussions with Zac [Браун] and Andreas [Зайдл] we decided to terminate my contract early. We agreed to part ways at the end of this season,” commented Ricciardo

“I will soon announce my plans for the future. No matter where my path takes me, I have no regrets. I am proud of my efforts and my work for McLaren and especially the victory at Monza. It was a pleasure working with everyone both in Woking and on the track. I will give my all for the rest of this season. I have never been more motivated to compete and be a part of the sport I love so much.”

Andreas Seidl thanked Ricciardo for his dedication and contribution to the team.

“He’s always up for a fight, positive and has helped our whole team move forward. We will never forget the success of Monza, which gave our team such a huge boost. We are still fighting an important battle in the Constructors’ Championship and will continue our work together with Daniel and Lando [Норис]added the McLaren F1 boss.

Zach Brown noted that it was a pleasure to work alongside Ricciardo.

“It’s no secret that we hoped to achieve more together. We wish him all the best in the future. Let’s enjoy the rest of the season,” added the McLaren Racing CEO.
