According to the vice-president of the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria, Elena Poptovorova, the attack on the Russian public figure Alexander Dugin, in which his car was blown up and his daughter was killed, is a sign of internal processes in Russia.
“Not necessarily in the Kremlin itself, but in circles that feel threatened by Russia’s far-reaching war in Ukraine. Dugin’s mission is to unite the Kremlin, and Putin personally, which he succeeded in, in an over-the-top mission of Russia to wage a successful battle with the Western world, first of all with the United States, and to do so in alliance with Iran and Eurosceptic parties in Europe. , she added.
According to her, Dugin is the driver of the war in Ukraine and before that the war in Crimea.
“They call him ‘Putin’s Rasputin’ because he has managed to completely take over not only the thinking but also the political action of Putin and probably of much of the Kremlin. In May, his daughter publicly declared to the Eurasian Youth Movement a war of civilizations in Ukraine,” added Poptodorova.
She stated that we have direct conduits of this political point of view in Bulgaria.
“Just yesterday, a similar speaker was invited on the national radio in prime time. We need to have a very clear analysis of these events, because it is very easy to slip public opinion on an abstract ideology such as Dugin’s,” she added.
