Pique retires with a lot of swearing and equals Stoichkov’s anti-record (VIDEO)

Gerard Pique said goodbye to football in a scandalous way. After being sent off emotionally by Barca fans at Camp Nou at the weekend, the defender was expected to record the last minutes of his career in Osasuna’s away game (2:1).

However, that was not to be after Pique, who was on the bench, was sent off by referee Jesus Hill Manzano at the break for foul swearing by the player. Pique was visibly unhappy with the referee’s rulings and chased him off the pitch and through the tunnel, hurling insults at him.

Spain’s biggest sports daily Marca has obtained the referee’s official report, which details Pique’s exact words. Since 95 percent of them are cynicism, we will not quote them. We will only suggest that the main character in the tirade of the Barca legend is the referee’s mother.

Of course, Pique will take a heavy punishment for swearing, but it will be practically irrelevant since he has already ended his career.

However, the interesting thing is that with his red card, the former Spanish international already has 11 expulsions with the Barca team. Thus, he equaled the record of Hristo Stoichkov, who also had 11 red cards during his time with the Catalans.

Third in this not particularly pleasant ranking is Pep Guardiola, who has been sent off 9 times.
