Motorola promises announcements every month in the spring… including a folding model
A smartphone concept, and a lot of teasing: February is certainly not a key month in Motorola’s calendar of announcements, which recently renewed its G series in Europe (in entry and mid-range), but the brand of Lenovo nevertheless ensured a remarkable presence at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And while its roll-up screen mobile is a delight for technophiles, the brand is talking about more concrete projects.
Always a partner of Pantone, which dresses its colors of the year for the Edge 30 Neo and Fusion, Motorola intends to continue its momentum. Interviewed by us, Jutta Peinze, EMEA Marketing Director of Motorola, confirms that other products of this kind will be marketed during the year. And while the star of Motorola’s catalog is undoubtedly its folding smartphone, the Razr, now competing not only with Samsung, but also with Oppo, its most anticipated model is none other than the Razr 2023. The device, whose we suspect that the announcement is approaching, is already the subject of information leaks which suggest a modernized design and a larger external screen than that of its predecessor.
When should we expect it? Probably before the summer, according to our interlocutor, who invites us to note three dates in our diary: April 4, May 4 (the traditional “May the 4th” inspired by the universe of Star Wars) and June 1. “It’s going to be about colors, it’s going to be about form factor, and it’s going to be about something that’s very price competitive”guarantees us Jutta Peinze, adding that the advertisements will contain elements “that [nous allons] really appreciate”.
A busy program for Motorola, the brand – which refuses to talk about more than its current profitability – counting on reaching a double-digit market share in Europe. “2023 will be our year”predicts Jutta Peinze as such.
