Messi’s fantastic goal fails PSG in Portugal – Football World – Champions League

The teams of Benfica and PSG finished with a score of 1:1 in a match of the group stage of the Champions League. Lionel Messi opened for the Parisians in the 22nd minute, and Danilo’s own goal in the 41st brought the tie.

Donnarumma should have saved his team as early as the 8th minute when Benfica’s Gonzalo Ramos received an incredible pass and fired a shot into the PSG goal. However, the visitors’ keeper shone with an incredible save.

The home side again came close to scoring in the 18th minute when David Neres once again had a good shot on target, but Donnarumma again made a brilliant save to put the Parisians in the game for the second time. A corner kick followed, which did not lead to anything dangerous.

However, Lionel Messi showed his class once again as in the 22nd minute he received a good pass from a teammate and delivered a very accurate and solid shot, and there was no chance for the home goalkeeper. The Argentine led PSG to success.

The Parisians survived thanks to Donnarumma again, this time the keeper had to intervene in the 38th minute when Antonio Silva broke free and shot as the ball went under the crossbar, but Donnarumma did not allow the ball to go in and put his team ahead in the result.

Benfica perhaps deserved a goal and a draw after their good play throughout the first half, but the way they got there was a little surprising as Danilo poked his own goal in the 41st minute after trying to clear a cross he suffered the ball in his goal – 1:1.

PSG started the second half strongly and already in the 49th minute Achraf Hakimi missed a good chance, and in the 50th Neymar also failed to score as his shot hit the crossbar and the ball went out.

Rafa Silva, on the other hand, had an excellent chance to bring success to Benfica in the 81st minute, when the brilliant Donnarumma again intervened and saved.
