Manchester United are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier, The Telegraph claims.
Meanwhile, Old Trafford are hoping to sell or loan Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Crystal Palace, the defender’s former club, who are interested in re-signing the Englishman. The Eagles are believed to be willing to pay £10m for the 24-year-old, although that would represent a huge loss for United, who signed Wan-Bissaka for £50m in 2019.
However, the full-back does not feature in manager Erik ten Hag’s plans and a loan deal could be another option. The Dutch specialist has told the club’s management that he wants a new right-back to compete with Diogo Dalot, who started as a starter in the new season.
“The Telegraph” writes that Man United have offered an amount of around 15 million euros for Meunier, who has also been linked with a transfer to Barcelona. The Belgian international is 30 years old and has a lot of experience on the European fields and with the team of Paris Saint-Germain. His contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2024.
United are yet to make a bid, but Meunier appears to be a likely target for Barcelona defender Sergio Dest, although the American international, who has been tipped to leave Barcelona this summer, is also on the Red Devils’ shortlist. Ironically, United were considering signing Meunier before signing Wan-Bissaka.
