Manchester United will make a third bid for Ajax winger Anthony. According to the British publication The Times, the “red devils” this time will offer the giant from Amsterdam 100 million euros for the 22-year-old winger, after the Dutch champion already rejected offers of 60 and 80 million euros.
Ajax travel to Rotterdam to visit Sparta on Sunday and Anthony is not included in the squad for the Eredivisie match. The club are reluctant to part with the attacking player after already losing several key figures in the summer, including Argentine Lisandro Martinez, who has been reunited with United manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford. Ten Haag led Ajax before landing in Manchester.
However, according to recent reports, Antony is keen to play for the English giants, having skipped training and decided to be in the gym instead. United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for midfielder Casemiro, who will become the club’s fourth new signing of this transfer window, following Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.
Erik Ten Hag wants to sign another striker, a right-back and a back-up option for starting goalkeeper David de Gea. The Red Devils host Liverpool in Monday night’s big English derby in search of their first points of the Premier League season after back-to-back opening defeats to Brighton and Brentford.
