LG France announces the marketing of a new Oled television called LG Oled CS. This model takes up the design of the LG C1 with a more imposing aluminum foot than that of the C2. On the other hand, it has the Alpha 9 Gen5 AI processor, as well as the latest version of webOS 22 present on the LG C2.
The similarities end there since the LG Oled CS ignores the Oled Evo panel of the LG C2 and is content with a slightly less bright Oled panel, already present on the C1. As a reminder, we measured a peak brightness of 740 cd/m² on the LG 55C1 against 804 cd/m² on the LG 65C2.
Like the LG C2, this “new” LG Oled CS has an integrated microphone, which allows you to use the ThinQ home assistant without touching the remote control. It also houses a light sensor that automatically adjusts image quality, including temperature and gamma level, depending on ambient light (Dolby Vision IQ). Of course, there is complete connectivity, including the four HDMI 2.1 inputs compatible with 4K 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM and G-Sync / FreeSync, already present on the LG C1 and C2.
The LG Oled CS TV is available in 55 (140 cm), 65 (165 cm) and 77 inch (190 cm) diagonal versions under the references 55CS, 65CS and 77CS, at respective prices of 1500, 2000 and 3500 €. Knowing that we currently find the LG 55C2 for less than 1400 €, the LG 65C2 for less than 1900 € or the LG 77C2 for less than 3000 €, the LG Oled CS should benefit from great discounts in order to be really competitive.
This is probably a model planned for the big promotions of the coming weeks, in particular Black Friday which will start at the end of the week, in order to break the price of this new LG Oled CS model without selling off the LG C2 too much. , a true best-seller of the brand in France.
Needless to say that at an equivalent price, we will choose the LG C2 with its brighter Oled Evo panel, but if the price difference is significant between an LG CS and an LG C2 on the same diagonal, the first choice may be relevant.
