Kiss under the mistletoe with Ruth Koleva

Ruth Koleva’s latest track is her first holiday title and second to be co-released by Warner Music Group. and Orpheus Music, after the successful single “Superpower”, which for the 5th week in a row is the second most played song on the domestic airwaves, is included in over 120 playlists on all digital platforms and was covered by dozens of publications at home and abroad.

After gracing the cover of the October issue of “Elle” magazine, she decided to give her fans her own version of the classic “This Christmas”. The Christmas song will be a priority for Warner Music Group territories in Eastern and Southern Europe and will be marketed with large-scale campaigns.

When Donny Hathaway composed “This Christmas” in 1970, he hoped the song would become a favorite among at least the African-American community. The American artist did not assume that this Christmas song would become a worldwide hit and be part of every holiday soundtrack.

Having experienced its own hit life, “This Christmas” also found its most talented ambassador in Bulgaria. Invoking cherished, musical moments, Ruth Koleva gives a distinctively modern twist to the Christmas classic, embracing the timeless power of the holiday melody.

The team working on the project is more than impressive. “This Christmas” was arranged by the magnificent Antoni Donchev, and in the audio and video Ruth is supported by the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio. As the conductor of the band and an undisputed jazz luminary, Antoni Donchev masterfully combines the gentle grace of Koleva’s voice with the power of the jazzmen’s sound. The line-up brings a unique international twist to vintage swing, making “This Christmas” a song made to warm the heart. The song whispers that we can always make time for loved ones, to gather together and enjoy the music and Christmas spirit.

“This Christmas” is available on all music platforms from November 18, 2022.
