A day earlier, the body of Pele, who died on December 29, will be brought from the hospital where he ended his earthly journey to the Villa Belmiro stadium in Sao Paulo.

The farewell ceremony for the great football player will begin at 10 a.m. local time and will last exactly one day. It will be open to all, but those wishing to say goodbye to Pele will not be allowed to approach the casket.

After that, a procession with the body of the King of Football will go through the streets of Sao Paulo, which will head to the “Universal Necropolis” memorial, where the funeral itself will take place. It will pass through the neighborhood where the King’s 100-year-old mother lives.

The ceremony will be open only to his family and closest friends.

Brazil has officially announced 3 days of mourning for Pele, starting on January 1st.

Pele is the only three-time world champion in football history (1958, 1961, 1970).

At club level, he plays for Santos and the American Cosmos (New York), and in the national team he is the record scorer along with Neymar, who scored his 77th goal at the World Cup in Qatar this year.
