French champions Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for a new striker following the impending departures of Arno Calimuendo to Rennes and Mauro Icardi. Earlier today, the new coach of the Parisians, Christophe Galtier, revealed that the team wants to bring in another batter.
L’Equipe now claim that Parc des Princes have already contacted Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford’s entourage and talks are progressing positively.
The England international’s contract expires next summer and PSG are ready to allow him to revive his career in the French capital. There is no further information on how much the Ligue 1 champions are willing to pay for the 24-year-old, who can also play on the wing.
Transfermarkt.com value the England international at €60 million, but with one year remaining on his contract, PSG sporting director Luis Campos will look to sign the striker for well below that figure.
In the 2021/2022 season, Rashford made 32 appearances, scoring five goals and registering two assists for Manchester United. The French publication did not reveal whether the Red Devils would be willing to let the striker leave Old Trafford this summer due to the uncertain future of star player Cristiano Ronaldo.
