Argentina captain Lionel Messi has reached an agreement in principle to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. This was revealed by sports journalist Guillaume Balague.
The 35-year-old Messi’s current contract with the French champions expires at the end of June 2023.
Just a few days ago, the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, said that he “would be happy” for Messi to return to Camp Nou, where he spent 21 years. However, according to the latest information, the management of the Spanish club did not come into contact with Messi.

The final agreement on the contract renewal was reached at a meeting between Messi’s father Jorge and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Doha.
