Honor unveils the Honor Band 7, its new connected bracelet

The Chinese brand Honor announced on Tuesday, February 21, the launch of its new connected bracelet, the Honor Band 7. If it does not reinvent the wheel, as every year, the model is improving without hurting the wallet too much. .

Thus, it is equipped with a 1.47 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 194 x 368 px (282 ppi), in 2.5D curved glass. According to the brand, the smartband can work for up to two weeks in moderate usage scenarios, and up to 10 days under more intensive use. Note that this product supports fast charging, which would save two days of battery life in just 5 minutes of charging.

With around 18 grams on the scale, the Band 7 is a lightweight product. The brand does not skimp on marketing jargon to sell us the purity of its rubber strap, which would be “made of premium material which uses a UV light induced polymerization technique to make the strap dirt resistant and more comfortable to wear”. Just that.

AI in a $60 wristband, really?

With AI being on everyone’s lips in the tech world since the emergence of ChatGPT, one could guess that this technology would be mentioned here. Honor thus affirms that its “Optimized AI helps users better manage their health and well-being”… before quoting only fitness recommendation algorithms as there have been for years. More interestingly, the brand evokes a chip equipped with an AI that would help in monitoring heart rate. The bracelet also has a blood oxygen level monitoring system, which alerts users by vibration if it becomes too low.

The Honor Band 7 comes with 96 workout modes, including running, walking, cycling, swimming, elliptical, rowing machine, free training, and a new one, jump rope. Otherwise, the bracelet does what most bracelets do: it allows you to control the music, turns into a remote shutter for the photo, manages calls, or allows you to check the weather.

The Honor Band 7 will be available on HiHonor.com from February 21, 2023, and at select retailers and distributors from €59.90. A launch offer around the new Honor Magic5 Lite is valid until March 7, 2023.
