The executive director of CSKA 1948 – Dobrin Gyonov, was a special guest in the program “The Home of Football” on DIEMA SPORT. The boss of the “reds” talks about the processes in the club and what his goals are after the appointment of Stoycho Mladenov as operations director.
Gyonov believes that a time will come when the entire “army” community will unite.
“Both Stoycho Mladenov and I stated it earlier this week that CSKA will certainly be one sooner or later, and CSKA’s place is at the Bulgarian Army stadium,” said Gyonov.
Here’s what else he said on DIEMA SPORT:
“I think that this year the forces are quite equal. We are happy to be in first place. We have to take into account the postponed matches,, but we also have to note that we played two of the favorites. We beat Levski, we almost came close to beating Ludogorets.
We are extremely grateful to Niki Kirov. He did a lot of work. After the end of the season, he announced himself that he wanted to leave, and we wanted to upgrade. It was normal to turn to a real army man, a figure in the history of CSKA who has left a huge mark. It was normal to turn to Luboslav Penev.
The arrival of Stoicho Mladenov will certainly help in the organization. As soon as he arrived, he had ideas about what needed to be changed. We started working in the structural part of the club. The results of his work will be seen at a later stage. As well as, in truth, we also see the work of Lubo Penev with the team. He made preparations and thanks to that we are now in this position. I am soon convinced that the fruit of Mr. Mladenov’s work will bear fruit.
I personally see a coming together of the entire Army community. Starting with legends, fans. All past and present for our club. I’m sure it will. It’s time to have a team of fans and legends and let them be the people to run the club.
Operations director means that he will help me in the organization, in the structure, in the overall vision of our club, so that we can be a modern European club, as the name CSKA dictates.”
