Ludogorets recorded its fifth consecutive and total twelfth victory in the native football championship. The champions overcame Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) as a guest after a whirlwind first half that proved to be enough for the three points won 3:2.
Thus, the “Eagles” are second in the standings with 38 points, three less than the leader CSKA, but also with two games less at the moment.
The coach of the home team, Aleksandar Tomas, had decided to bet on a high defensive line, which played a bad joke on him, although it was Plovdiv who opened the scoring.
Central defender Martin Paskalev scored in the fourth minute when he was uncovered at the far post.
After that, however, the people of Razgrad picked up the pace and created situation after situation with long lead passes without any particular problems. Thanks to them, the quick wings of the guests jumped out undisturbed behind the opponent’s defense and in the 19th minute, Matias Tissera equalized, realizing alone against Dinko Horkas – 1:1.
Less than ten minutes later, Von Vitri advanced from the right and found Tissera in the penalty area, who made it 2:1 with his second goal. The third goal for Ludogorets came in the 38th minute, when Kauli broke away on the left flank and converted for 3:1. The situation was reviewed by VAR for an ambush, and in the end the goal was awarded. By the break, the visitors wasted a few more very good opportunities.
The second half was not so dynamic, but Loko managed to score a second goal. Captain Dimitar Iliev found Giovanni on the edge of the penalty area, and he scored with a nice shot for 3:2.
The loss is Loko’s fifth, with the Smurfs fourth in the standings with 30 points.
