Former NBA star hits rock bottom – begging on the streets in the States – Basketball – NBA

Former NBA star Delonte West hit rock bottom after his career ended and is now begging on the streets of Dallas. The 38-year-old former athlete does not look like himself, although he has generated huge millions in the course of his sports career.

At the end of basketball, West resorted to drugs and alcohol, and the owner of the Mavericks – Mark Cuban, even began to pay for the rehabilitation of his former employee. LeBron James also stepped in to help West get back to a normal lifestyle.

Despite all the attempts, he really doesn’t seem like himself after footage and clips of the former basketball player begging started to appear again. An American posted a video from a gas station where he can be seen talking to West and even the basketball player explains to him how he took care of all his family members and because of that he was broke.

The mother of the boy in the car even asked him if he had invested his money in anything, and then he started talking: “I was taking care of my family and my children. Every single one of them went to college. I made sure they each got their own house,” West said, then was asked how it was possible that after all of this, none of them paid him back for all of this.

“I have fought and will fight alone in life. I don’t want anything in return for myself,” he commented.

During his eight-year NBA career, Delonte West played for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks. He then played in the J League of China, where he ended his career in 2015.

The 193-centimeter basketball player averaged 9.7 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Over the years, he received $16 million in wages alone.
