The former Brazilian footballer Edenilson Bergonsi returned to his memories of the period in which he played in Bulgaria. He did this in an interview with the Italian “Varese Sport”.
“My experience at Standard Liège was bad because I arrived at a time when the ownership of the club was changing and there were economic problems as well as with the contracts because of which I was left out of the team. Then I went to the Black Sea. It was the best period of my career . I played regularly, liked the fans and was considered one of the best foreigners in the league. I found that stability that I had been missing until then. These two successful seasons earned me a call from CSKA, but once again luck was not with me – “The club went bankrupt in 2016 and I and many other players got burned without getting any money. It was only two years ago that I got compensation thanks to FIFA,” the Brazilian recalled.
“I am currently in Brazil. I decided to come back near my family. In the meantime, my son Gael was born – an indescribable joy. I play in a local team just to keep fit. My family has an industrial cleaning company, so I can dedicate to this business. But I can also become a football agent. I have already mediated the transfer of a young Brazilian boy to the Bulgarian championship, so there is interest,” says Edenilson Bergonsi.
The Brazilian last played in Europe for Drita of Kosovo and Panevezis of Latvia, as well as Bruno’s Magpies of Gibraltar.
