Barcelona took a resounding success at the difficult visit of Real Sociedad with 4:1 in the last match of Sunday’s La Liga program. Lewandowski opened the scoring in the first minute. Alexander Isak restored parity just 4 minutes later. Ousmane Dembele gave the Catalans a new lead in the 66th minute. Just two minutes later, Lewandowski scored a second goal to give Xavi’s men a decisive lead. Ansu Fatty, who made a brilliant switch, capped it off with a fourth goal ten minutes from time.
The start of the match was really hit for the Catalans. After a blistering counter-attack, youngster Alejandro Balde showed great confidence as he took over 60 meters and laid the ball at the feet of Lewandowski, who scored his La Liga debut.
Xavi’s boys’ joy only lasted for 4 minutes though. After a blunder by a Barça defender, Alexander Isak was brought on, who checked Ter Stegen for 1:1.
In the 12th minute, the head referee did not penalize Ousmane Dembele, although doubts remained for an elbow strike.
In the 27th minute, the hosts missed a great chance. Mikel Merino and Takefuso Kubo scored successive shots, but Stegen prevented a goal. In the final seconds of the half, Lewandowski rose with his head, but shot straight at the goalkeeper.
In the 53rd minute, Bryce Mendes thought he had scored for Real Sociedad, but it turned out that he was offside. Sociedad continued to be much more active and in the 58th minute Merino again forced Stegen to save.
In the 64th minute, Lewandowski managed in an excellent way to control a pass in front of the penalty area and shoot, but the shot turned out to be convenient for Remiro.
Just two minutes later, however, Barcelona were able to capitalize on their chance. After a great back-heel pass from Ansu Fati, Dembele found himself in a good shooting position and fired a powerful shot past the Sociedad keeper for 2:1.
Golden reserve Fathi was also involved in the third goal for the visitors. After a sharp pass from De Jong, he slightly deflected the ball, and Lewandowski with one touch did not forgive Remiro for 3:1. Ansu Fatty finished it off with a fourth goal in the 79th minute.
