Duel comparison: Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) vs Sony WF-1000XM4

Both models provide us with simply exceptional sound reproduction for headphones. true-wireless, each with their own approach. On the one hand, the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are generally more flattering, especially in the high frequencies, with a feeling of greater clarity, a more lively sound, and a soundstage that is a little more frontal, but also more open and airy. The lowest frequencies are also a little stronger, which in no way spoils their percussion and their definition. The general sound reproduction is not lacking in detail, and that’s what makes the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) so effective.

The WF-1000XM4 are also relatively flattering, but are much more measured, especially in the high-mids. The result is a softer sound than the AirPods Pro (2nd generation), but just as precise, homogeneous and accurate, with a slightly more natural approach in terms of stereo reproduction, especially in terms of depth. In both cases, the timbres of all the instruments are perfectly identifiable and the two models demonstrate exceptional dynamics and accuracy.

It is therefore very difficult for us to decide between the two models; it’s up to each individual to prefer either the smoothness of the WF-1000XM4s or the clarity of the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen).
