Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has renewed talks with Chelsea over a possible transfer of the Manchester United star. The Portuguese was in the plans of the new owner of the Londoners Todd Boelli at the beginning of the summer, when it became clear that Ronaldo wanted to leave Old Trafford to play again in the Champions League.
However, the deal was stalled as Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was reportedly against the signing of the star. Yesterday, “The Times” revealed that the German has abandoned this idea after a conversation with his compatriot Ralf Rangnick, who was the interim manager of the “Red Devils” in the second half of last season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have targeted Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The transfer was almost agreed between the two clubs, but in recent days the media in the Island revealed that it was on the verge of falling through as Chelsea could not agree with the Gabonese on his personal terms.
However, Tuchel is keen to have a new striker in place by the time the summer window closes and for that reason Mendes resumed talks with the Londoners at the weekend. The big question is whether the Chelsea manager, who continues to have reservations about a possible transfer for Cristino, will be inclined to such a deal as the team is seen to be struggling in attack.
Chelsea are also rumored to be preparing a bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
