Cruel blow from UEFA: Yomov burned for 4 years because of doping – BG Football – Others

Terrible news came from UEFA. One of the most talented footballers of CSKA and Bulgaria, Georgi Yomov, was punished for 4 years for accepting doping. This has not yet been officially announced, but according to “Match Telegraph” sources of the “Army” and in the BFS the decision has been made.

The winger had been suspended since August 25, when traces of a banned substance were found in his body about a month earlier. Yomov’s sample was taken after a match with Macedonia GP in the Conference League. Subsequently, it became clear that the doping in Yomov’s body has the unpronounceable name – dehydrochloromethyltestosterone. It is this substance that forms the basis of the most severe possible punishment for the wing. It is about a preparation that was stopped from sale in the 90s of the last century, and in some countries even earlier. It can only be purchased on the black market.

This fact has broken Georgi Yomov’s defense, which was based on the claim that dehydrochloromethyltestosterone accidentally got into his body, because the purchase itself requires breaking the rules, and this indicates that the football player was aware of what he was doing. The most stupid thing about this situation is that the doping mentioned above did not help Yomov to play better football, it was beneficial for him to have a flat stomach and sculpted muscles.

It is possible that the Swiss law firm that CSKA hired to defend Yomov will appeal the decision.
