Cristiano sparks a battle for millions between Arab giants

Saudi Al Nasser looks set to have domestic competition for Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature. The Portuguese legend will ignite a multi-million battle between two of the biggest teams in the country, who want to attract him to their ranks. A few days ago, information appeared that Al Nasser, where Dimitar Penev and Hristo Stoichkov briefly worked at the end of the 90s, are ready to give CR7 a whopping 200 million euros per year.

However, another local team – Al Hilal – is now on the scene, and they also want to have Ronaldo in their squad. The two teams from Riyadh have a total of 27 national championship titles. Al Hilal has 18, which is a record in local football, while Al Nasser has been champion 9 times.

Both teams have players in their squads who have gone through some of the big European teams. Manchester United’s Odion Ighalo and Luciano Vietto (Atletico Madrid) stand out in Al Hilal, while Al Nasser has David Ospina (Arsenal) as well as Vincent Aboubakar, who is Cameroon’s No.3 goalscorer.

Saudi Arabia’s title holders are willing to do anything to get Cristiano out from under their arch-rivals’ noses, and that means an even more financially lucrative offer.

The Portuguese is a free agent after parting ways with Manchester United a few weeks ago.
