Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the military to prepare for battle

We call on the relevant parties to implement a truce through dialogue and consultation and find a solution

China’s People’s Liberation Army should focus on preparing for a real battle, President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to local media, at a seminar in Beijing on national defense and military reform, the Chinese leader sent a series of instructions to participants.

Xi Jinping stressed that the armed forces should “focus on preparing to engage in actual military operations.” The Chinese leader also announced the need to firmly stick to the path of fulfilling the previously outlined goals of the reform.

In 2015, the Chinese authorities announced their intention to significantly reform their armed forces to increase their effectiveness. Xi Jinping is trying to create an ultra-modern army that can, if necessary, repel any enemy. According to him, the most important requirement for the army is its combat capability.

After the beginning of the reforms, strategic missile forces were created, which currently, together with the land, air, naval forces and the People’s Armed Police, make up the Chinese armed forces, RIA Novosti clarifies.

China called for a “ceasefire through dialogue and consultation” after President Vladimir Putin announced a partial military mobilization in Russia, reports AFP.

“We urge the relevant parties to implement a truce through dialogue and consultation and find a solution that meets the legitimate security concerns of all parties as soon as possible,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.
