British Intelligence and ISW: The VSU Offensive Changes Russian Plans

In some places, the Ukrainian troops have managed to penetrate into the territory controlled by the occupiers, taking advantage of the relatively weak Russian defense. This is according to the new report of the British intelligence, published on Twitter.

In response, Russia will probably try to fill the resulting “holes” by sending parts of the Donbass to these areas, predict the spies from London.

The Russian command is also creating new reinforcements, which will have to reinforce the occupation troops, which suffered from the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The British intelligence service also commented on the third army corps, which has already been partially redirected to the Zaporozhye direction. The military doubts the effectiveness of the newly formed Russian battalions.

“The new Third Army Corps is likely to be undermanned, and these troops have limited training,” notes London.

The Russians continue with their attempts to carry out an offensive in Donbass. This morning, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that the enemy tried to advance in the direction of Bakhmut, Vesela Dolina and Zaitsevo, but was unsuccessful and retreated.

The Russians hit a rock when they tried to attack in the direction of Krasnogorovka and Marinka.

Fighting continues in the direction of Bakhmut and Avdeevka in the areas of Kodoma, Zaitsevo, Peski, Pervomaiski and Marinka.

Analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) are adamant that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was officially announced a few days ago, forces the enemy to change its priorities.

They also believe that Russia will take action to protect Melitopol, an important logistics hub between Rostov Oblast and the south of the country.

Ukrainian troops continue to shell Russian logistics routes in Kherson, preventing the enemy from replenishing its reserves of manpower, ammunition and equipment.

Fierce fighting continues in the directions of Bakhmut and Avdeevka, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced on its Facebook page.

“In the direction of Donetsk, the enemy is not giving up its attempts to reach the administrative border of the Donetsk region. Today, fierce fighting continues in the direction of Bakhmut and Avdeevka, in the regions of Kodomi, Zaytseve, Pesky, Parvomaysk and Marinka,” the message says.

For example, in the direction of Bakhmut, artillery fire of various types was registered near Bakhmut, Soledar, Yakovlevka, Zaitseve, Mayorsk and Kodema.

“The enemy tried to advance in the direction of Bakhmut, Vesela Dolina and Zaitsevo with offensive actions, but failed and retreated. He is trying to establish control over the Kodema settlement, the fighting continues,” the General Staff adds.

“Offensive actions tried to improve the tactical situation in the directions of Krasnogorovka and Marinka, traditionally suffered losses and retreated,” the report says.
