Monday will remain a special day for several Brazilian players as they made their World Cup squad for the first time, but Flamengo striker Pedro made it even more memorable by proposing minutes after receiving his World Cup call-up. The 25-year-old got down on one knee with a ring in hand in front of his visibly excited girlfriend Fernanda Nogueira, who didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Pedro earned a place in Tite’s extended 26-man World Cup squad after a fine season with Flamengo. He helped the Brazilian club win the Copa Libertadores after also becoming the team’s top scorer with 12 goals.
Pedro wasn’t the only player celebrating his call-up. Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes posted a video of himself dancing with his one-week-old baby in his arms, while Richarlison’s family went wild when they saw the Tottenham striker’s name on the list.
Vinicius’ children celebrated by waving Brazilian flags when the 22-year-old Real Madrid striker’s name was announced. Neymar also smiled, but not loudly, as he looked forward to his third World Cup appearance.
Brazil, aiming for a record sixth title, are in Group G along with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
