The president of the BFS – Borislav Mihailov, revealed why the national team of Bulgaria refused to play control with Argentina on home soil. The head of the headquarters announced that the “tricolors” are arranging a match with Germany on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the BFS and the creation of the national team.
This he did after opening a new football field in Elin Pelin. The plant’s boss was in the company of Vice President Emil Kostadinov, delighting the local children with the new training facility.
“There was no way we could play Argentina because we were offered to do it during our Nations League games. We are not allowed to play three games in five days.
We are arranging a match with Germany on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of BFS and the Bulgarian national team. We will invite almost all federations and big bosses in football. It’s just that we have to comply with the calendar,” said Mihailov during the opening of the football field in Elin Pelin, which is financed by the BFS.
“In my opinion, the championship is very interesting, great competition, strong matches. It was a very good match between Levski and CSKA, I am very satisfied with the behavior of the audience,” said Mihailov.
“I hope that the new strong generation of Bulgaria will emerge from some of these fields. This depends on the children themselves above all. We continue to help, within a few months we will open more fields, in some places there are whole fields. As for to the bigger stadiums – there is no football association in the world that has built a stadium, that is the state’s job, but I hope we will have a nice big stadium soon.
In Plovdiv, two are on the way, work is going well with the two stadiums of Botev and Lokomotiv, in Varna also at the Cherno More stadium. Let’s hope that in a year or two there will be a stadium that we can participate with and that I can bring a Super Cup or Conference League final here.
Soccer is the most popular sport, most of it is professional, but lacks a lot of infrastructure at the moment, yes. “Plovdiv” stadium is a big pain for me. There, too, reconstruction can be done well and the investment is not so big. The cup is well made, the concrete holds, the pitch is good because no one enters. Seats must be put in,” concluded the former captain of the national team.
