Matthias Binotto had a meeting with John Elkann ahead of the second leg of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship. Italian media claimed that the Scuderia’s Grand Prix boss and the president of Ferrari have determined the direction of work for the remaining starts of the season. For now, there are no further details about the conversation between them. Until now, Binoto had the full support of Elkann and newly appointed Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. He himself stubbornly defended his team even after situations like those with the strategies in Monte Carlo and Hungary.

After his meeting with Elkann, Binotto gathered the entire Ferrari team together with the drivers at Gestione Sportiva

A general photo from this gathering was published on Ferrari’s official social media channels with the call in Italian: “Full speed ahead”.

The head of the department of electronics and operation of propulsion systems, Luigi Fabroni, noted that the Spa-Francorchamps track puts a serious strain on the units

The legendary track will host the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend.

“It’s the longest track on the calendar. Usually on the weekend there are some of the longest distances for cars and powertrains. There are very long straights and therefore special tests are required for the bikes on the test stands. In terms of performance, Spa and Monza are the tracks where power has the biggest impact on lap times and energy management. This gives a serious effect on the final results, especially in the qualification. Judgment is also required for certain specific calibrations of the cooling and lubrication systems. The reason is the different ascents and descents in the configuration,” explained Fabroni.
